About the business and the role

We are a  busy accounting firm located in Penrith looking for a highly motivated accountant to join our team. This is a vital full time role as you will be responsible for all aspects of accounting roles and would ideally suit a team member who comes from a similar role, who enjoys being part of a team.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Types of duties will include:-

• Preparation of PAYG Individual Returns (both face-to-face and via email)
• Preparation and lodgement of BAS and IAS Statements
• Providing GST and Taxation advice to clients
• Small business tax returns
• Liaising with the ATO on the phone, and via the ATO Tax Portal
• Preparing SMSF tax returns and financials.

Skills and experience

You will need to :

• Ability to work unsupervised
• Experience with face-to-face client meetings, preparing PAYG Income Tax Returns at a high volume
• Capability of taking jobs from start to finish and meeting deadlines
• Committed, self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet objectives
• Experience in Handisoft would be an advantage. Other software (MYOB) would be highly regarded, but not required.
• Must have minimum 2 years experience working in an accounting office
