Accounts Analyst

E te tī e te tā, e āku whakatamarahi ki te rangi, tēnā koutou. Rukuhia tēnei kōrero kia riro ai ngā kārangatanga o te wā. Koinei te tono  atu kia tāpiri mai wāu wheako, pūkenga hoki, hei kaihoe kei runga i tēnei waka hihiko e kīa nei ko Te Taurapa Tūhono.  Nei rā mātou e mihi atu ki a koutou katoa.

This role is based in Wellington.

Ko wai tātou| Who we are:

Every day New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) connects New Zealand export businesses with opportunities to grow and go global. Their success is our success. We also connect investors with New Zealand investment opportunities across companies, sectors and regions. If you are innovative with a can-do attitude, adventurous, and open to being challenged, then this might be the opportunity for you! Our people are based in 50 offices, working across 24 time zones and 40 languages to support New Zealand businesses in over 100 countries.

Our Finance team has an ambition to create a stronger, more agile and more connected finance function for NZTE. We will do this by shifting from back office to front office and truly earn the “title” of partner to our organisation, which will be a great step forward. As NZTE continues to flex its resources to support its strategy, there are amazing opportunities and challenges for the Finance team. We want to provide an awesome customer experience using automation and digitalisation to sync in with our internal partners to produce joined up delivery rather than manual and transactional individual processes.

He aha tāu e mahi ana | What you’ll be doing:

Crucial to the organisational stability of NZTE is sound financial administrative and analytical support.  As the Accounts Analyst you will own accounts receivable processing, monthly reconciliations, verification of ledgers/accounts and finance system maintenance tasks including delegations and project updates.  Working with the wider Finance team you will support the development of strategy for innovation within NZTE financial processes and systems development to maximise efficiency and improve end-user experience.  You will use your excellent attention to detail to ensure that weekly and monthly responsibilities are met, e.g. finance timetables, bank reconciliations and cash management.  Adept at operating within with complex finance policies and guidance, you will support the Financial Controller and wider team in accurate and timely financial reporting, administration, and various accounting projects.  This team is transforming how we do finance here at NZTE and we are looking for someone who embraces change, forges great relationships and is an energetic team player.

Ko ngā mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitū te haere | What you’ll need to be successful:

You will possess previous experience in account payable or receivable role and strong organisational skills, experience within the public sector is preferred but not crucial.   A natural collaborator, your ability to be self-directed juggler of your BAU work and projects will be the key to success – you can be counted on to work with the right people to get the job done amongst tight and competing deadlines.  You will be technically savvy with a good understanding of Excel and Microsoft Office and be keen to further build your skill sets in systems and accounting practices. Solution rather than problem focused, you will use opportunities to provide insights and help drive for future change for the better of NZTE.  Your ability to prioritise and the way you proactively drive for results will set you apart and show you are up to the challenge.

This is a fantastic time to join NZTE, we are committed to our purpose, which is to grow companies internationally – bigger, better, faster – for the good of New Zealand.

He aha ō painga ki tēnei mahi | Why you’ll love working here:

NZTE is a truly global organisation where we work across different time zones and offer flexibility because of this. We know that life isn’t all about work so we will give you the right technology to allow you to work anywhere and balance your time. Work life balance is important to us - our position is if it’s good for you, it’s good for the team and it’s good for NZTE - we see it as a benefit. On top of this, we also offer five weeks annual leave so you can have that extra time in the year to enjoy what you love doing!
