Ecology and Heritage Partners Pty Ltd is a leading established consultancy specialising in ecological and cultural heritage projects throughout Australia. Our specialist team is currently working on a large number of projects across a variety of industries, including Government, property, renewable energy, linear infrastructure (road, rail and pipelines), water and mining and extractive industries.
We currently have offices in Melbourne, Geelong, Adelaide and Canberra.
Working closely with the Finance Specialist and the team, we are seeking to appoint a passionate and professional Accounts Assistant to undertake a broad range of duties within our Finance team. This is a critical support role primarily responsible for the preparation of operational reporting and tasks, as well as the administration of the Accounting functions.
The successful candidate will have skills enabling:
- Coordinate and prepare monthly project invoicing
- Prepare reports on project performance for consultation with project managers
- Liaise with project managers to establish and maintain project fee budgets
- Maintain Work in progress, Revenue recognition and other project financial reconciliations
- Actively manage debtors with a view to reducing the number of debtors exceeding 30 days including analysis and reporting
- Maintain accurate project financial information and data including forecast fees and budget
- Process staff expense claims
- Ensure all creditor invoices are processed for payment by the due date and in accordance with GST Legislation
- Ensure company’s financial obligations are recorded in a timely manner and payment of such obligations are made in accordance with the company Policy
- Reconcile bank accounts and ensure accurate allocation of all transaction entries
- Assist with monthly IAS, Payroll Tax and quarterly BAS returns
- Month end accruals and prepayments
- Contribute to month-end, quarterly and annual reporting and analysis
Personal characteristics and experience will also include
- Prior experience in bookkeeping, preferably within infrastructure, facilities management, property or services environment
- Tertiary qualifications in Accountancy and Finance
- Previous experience using Deltek VanatagePoint will be highly regarded
- Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word skills
- Excellent communication skills - Approachable and helpful manner (essential)
- The ability to draft accurate and concise financial reports
- Self motivated and the ability to manage workload and deadlines
Good time management capability, excellent communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines are considered prerequisites for the role.
