Why are we looking?

An opportunity now exists for a talented Accounts Clerk to join the Finance team. 

Position summary

The Accounts Clerk provides a professional service in relation to finance administrative matters. The Accounts Clerk will assist in the achievement of organisational goals and objectives through ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the trust function, billing process, local AP function and general finance matter management for both the Perth office and nationally.

The Accounts Clerk will perform the following duties:

  • Daily preparation of Trust and General Cheques including entering amounts in the firm's CMS Accounts Payable (AP) module
  • Dealing with AP queries from lawyers, legal assistants  or other office support staff
  • Assisting with the trust administrator process and controlled money transactions
  • Attending to daily banking including obtaining bank cheques for settlements and arranging telegraphic transfers
  • Bill posting
  • Collaborating with the National Finance team to constantly improve on service levels to ensure a high level of the standard of presentation and quality

  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and exceptional customer service skills
  • Be able to develop trusted relationships within the business

Required qualifications and preferred experience

  • Whilst no formal qualifications are required for the role, a minimum of 1 to 2 years' in a finance environment is preferred 
  • Consideration will be given to quality graduates with a Finance or Accounting degree
  • Previous experience in a professional services firm is desirable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including intermediate excel skills
