The Role:

The purpose of this position is to provide Financial services and support the operations of South West Community Care.

As the Accounts Officer you will:

  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Financial Officer 
  • Provide financial services support to South West Community Care
  • Undertake accounts payable and accounts receivable actions and financial processes using the finance management system and load payments to bank for approval
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for auditing purposes, under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer
  • Reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis and report any irregularities to the Chief Financial Officer
  • Maintain Consumer records in financial management system to match consumer management system
  • Generate monthly Consumer invoices 
  • Address and resolve consumer invoice enquiries 
  • Monitor Consumer payments and follow up as required, while keeping Chief Financial Officer informed 
  • Process consumer payments and complete banking requirements.
  • Prepare data for Government Departments/Portals as required
  • Manage vehicle fleet, including arranging servicing, repairs and seeking quotes for vehicle changeovers.  Arrange insurance and branding with approval from Chief Financial Officer
  • Process assets for the approval of the Chief Financial Officer.

Selection Criteria

Essential Requirements:

  • Current ‘C’ Class drivers licence
  • Current National Police Clearance, no older than three months
  • Willing to undertake a pre-employment medical examination
  • Current influenza vaccination
  • Holding or working towards a Certificate III Qualification in a relevant discipline 
  • Experience in using finance systems, with sound financial knowledge
  • Advanced administration skills with the ability to learn and adapt to new technology
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Time management and organisational skills with ability to prioritise work tasks and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated high level of computer literacy including the use of Excel 
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Certificate IV Qualification in relevant discipline
  • Experience in a community or not for profit based organisation.
