We are currently looking for an Accounts Officer to be part of the shared services team within our Resources division. The primary tasks are to assist the accounts receivable (revenue), accounts payable (expenditure) and payroll (expenditure) functions of the Global Logistics Resources division. Shared Services provides support to the national Energy business which provides services to the Oil & Gas sector across the nation in the areas of transport, warehousing, supply base, project services, vessel operations and fuel deliveries.

This role includes but is not limited to issuing invoices, maintaining customer relationships, managing outstanding debtors, processing accounts payable invoices for payment, assisting with the Time and Attendance system maintenance and processing for submission to payroll.

You will be responsible for:

Accounts Receivable

  • Invoicing distribution
  • Dealing with client queries
  • Processing revenue
  • System integration's
  • Reporting

Accounts Payable

  • Matching invoices to PO's
  • Batch processing
  • Following up overdues

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Knowledge of the accounting processes, internal control and audit requirements
  • Sound computer literacy skills with intermediate skills in MS Excel and MS Word
  • Understand the importance of adhering to deadlines
  • Attention to detail and accurate processing
  • Good understanding of working with the highest level of confidentiality at all times due to the highly sensitive personnel and business data used in the course of undertaking the duties of this role
  • Accuracy and effectiveness when completing tasks
  • Ability to work in a team or autonomously
  • Excellent time management skills
