Accounts Payable Officer
In this role you will be responsible for a range of duties related to general administration and the maintenance and processing of vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner. You will also provide top-level administrative support to the General Manager, Financial Controller and other dealership management.
In this role you will carry out the clerical and accounts tasks associated with Accounts Payable including:
- Reconciliation of statements for payment; and review various general ledger schedules such as sublet;
- Preparing batches of invoices for Data Entry and payment;
- Processing payments;
- Preparing Dealership Summary Reports;
- Opening, reading and distributing incoming daily mail and other material;
- Data entry and record keeping;
- Support the month end process by providing supporting documentation for month end journals; and
- Report on Aged Payables plus other ad hoc reporting where applicable.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Prior experience in a similar or comparable role;
- Current study or completion of an accredited accounting/finance course highly desirable;
- Proven competencies in the following areas - Organisation and Planning; Communication; Accounting/Book Keeping; Data Entry; as well as Computer and Clerical applications;
- Excellent telephone manner;
- Ability to communicate at all levels with staff and customers;
- Problem solving ability with commitment to quality of work and customer satisfaction;
- Good personal organisation skills with the ability to work in a team environment to meet required deadlines;
- Attention to detail; and
- Automotive Industry experience preferred, but not necessary.
