Where will you be working

This role is based at the QAL refinery in Gladstone, Queensland and works a 9-day Fortnight roster.

About the role

QAL has an opportunity for an Accounts Payable Officer to join our team.  You will be responsible for maintaining the accounts payable functions whilst ensuring accurate and efficient processing of invoices together with the investigation and analysis of variances. This role is diverse and requires you to be flexible, adaptable and be able to work autonomously. Key responsibilities include:

  • Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
  • Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Maintaining historical records
  • Verifying and processing reimbursements for employees expense payments
  • Paying vendors by scheduling payments and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit
  • Responding to all general vendor enquiries
  • Preparing analyses of accounts and producing periodic reports
  • Continuing to improve the payment process

About You:

To be successfully considered for this role, you should have:

  • Experience in an accounts payable role in a high volume environment is desirable
  • Proficient in data entry and an understanding of basic accounts payable principles
  • Excellent attention to detail, a high level of accuracy and outstanding communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully as a member of the team and autonomously as required
  • Ability to adhere to confidentiality and professional standards at all times
