Accounts Receivable Officer

This a permanent, full-time, office-based role, Monday – Friday at our Salisbury branch.

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Officer is responsible for the maintenance of the Alsco billing system and the collection of debtors, to support the sustained profitability of the Alsco business. You will report to the Regional Administration Manager and be part of our Administration team.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Maximising cash flow through effective collection procedures.
• Positive outbound collection calls/emails.
• Review and recommend action for accounts trading outside credit terms.
• Accurate allocation of all cheques/cash, credit card, BPay and direct deposits.
• Account reconciliations to determine payments.
• Follow up, coordinate, and work collaboratively with the service team in the resolution of any unprocessed credits & unpaid invoices.
• Daily banking and processing of all debtor receipts, credit card payments/EFT
• Processing intercompany transfers; and
• Customer service and dispute resolution

Key Skills and Experience Required:

• 3+ years’ experience developing successful collections techniques 
• Proven experience in successfully reducing and maintaining a low aged debtor's portfolio
• Ability to read and understand financial information
• Working knowledge of large accounting software programs (for example SAP or JDE)
• Certificate/TAFE qualifications in bookkeeping/accounting or other related business administration
• Intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills including Excel and Outlook
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Results driven and motivated to achieve and deliver all tasks on time
• High level of attention to detail
