Finance at Collarts & Macleay
Collarts & Macleay have recently bought the Payroll and Finance functions “in-house”. The intention of this was to provide the colleges with immediate, on premises, financial partnership and processing capabilities. This is especially important and exciting as the colleges are now in growth phases. The Assistant Accountant will be an integral part of this new team and will be expected to pick up existing processes, reporting, systems, etc from the existing internal team of four, while also seeking to improve these processes and question if there are better ways to deliver more efficient finance and payroll outcomes.
Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Management Accountant, this newly created position will be one of two Assistant Accountant roles providing a range of financial processing, support, analysis and advice across Collarts and Macleay, in the management of these entities General Ledgers and financial results, related obligations and outcomes. Also key is timely and accurate processing of payroll. This role will have significant interactions with the Management Accountant and the existing senior Assistant Accountant, both of whom have been hugely successful in bringing these processes in-house. Significant touchpoints with business managers and employees will also occur on a regular basis, especially around receivables and payables and payroll processing, reconciliations and management
To succeed in this role you will need experience and confidence across receivables and payables and payroll functions in a small to medium business environment. You will be the primary contact point for these functions and related processing and service provision.
