My client is a well respected boutique commercial company based south of Hamilton. Due to growth, they are looking to add an Assistant Accountant to their small and friendly finance team. Reporting to the CFO, you will be required to manage reconciliations, general financial duties including adhoc reports and AP/AR.

You will also take on tasks such as reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and assisting with month-end close procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and reporting financial results to senior management
• Managing, verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling accounts payable and receivable
• Support payroll activities
• Assist in general financial duties such as developing financial forecasts
• Investigating ways to improve profitability and efficiency in spending

The Successful Applicant

• Must be a team player and be willing to learn
• Previous proven experience as a Junior Accountant or Assistant Accountant
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Hands on experience with various systems
• Intermediate excel skills required
• Enthusiastic and positive attitude
