The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) plays a critical role in the national transport supply chain and in the overall economic development of Australia. Managing more than 8,500 km of track in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Queensland makes ARTC one of Australia's largest rail network owners. Headquartered in Adelaide, South Australia EGM is assisting them in the search for an Assistant Corporate Accountant.

About the Role:

You will be working as part of a team of three assisting the Corporate Finance Statutory / Legislative team in maintaining and continuously improving the accuracy and efficiency of the general ledger, fixed asset registers and AASB 16 leasing accounts.

Key Duties Include:

• Ensuring the accurate and timely recording of assets
• Provision of accounting and tax asset information and fixed asset reporting.
• Application of AASB 16 
• Internal reporting, Ledger bookings and Reconcilliations
• Periodic tasks and external reporting ensuring timely and accurate outputs
• Support Tax team reporting and reconciliation requirements as requested.
• Verify compliance with internal accounting procedures, accounting standards and elements of tax legislation and ensure appropriate documentation is available to users to support this.
• Prepare asset disclosure information compliant with Accounting Standards and Tax Legislation.
• Assist with review and update of relevant work instructions and procedures to ensure adherence to all statutory requirements and internal controls.
• Perform analytical reviews as requested to assist in the preparation of fixed asset advice to provide practical solutions, utilizing accounting standards.  

About You:

• Experience maintaining a fixed asset register in an infrastructure company

• Proven experience in the reconciliation of outstanding accounts, fixed assets, month end accounting and use of spreadsheets in a similar role or a role that encompasses these areas within a commercial organization

• Ability to influence managers and peers to provide information to meet set deadline
