What you'll do

Financial Audit Graduates commence in February 2022 and will:

• Support the audit of financial reports and performance statements of public sector entities
• Develop an understanding of public agency financial systems
• Build positive relationships with internal and external partners
• Identifying and report fundamental audit issues
• Learn and apply auditing standards, methodology and guidelines
• Contribute to the development and implementation of business improvement projects
• Actively pursue professional learning including CPA/CA coursework and technical training

Who you are

We're looking for students in their final year of Accounting and/or STEM based study (or those who've already graduated) who can demonstrate:

• Strong communication and social skills
• Sound judgment and a willingness to use initiative
• Resilience and maturity
• Alignment with the VAGO values of Respect, Collaboration, Innovation and Accountability

Experience working in an accounting, audit, or professional services environment isn't needed, but would be well regarded.

You'll be keen to complete accreditation with either Chartered Accountants ANZ or Certified Practising Accountants Australia (don't worry about course fees - they're on us! We'll also give you paid time off to prepare for and take exams)

Order of merit process

At the conclusion of the recruitment process, qualified candidates will be offered positions in the order their applications are ranked holistically. Additional suitable candidates will be offered a place on a Merit List for consideration to fill vacancies as they arise without needing to reapply+.
