With over 65 clubs across NSW, PCYC provides quality activities and programs in a safe, fun, and friendly environment. PCYC has over 70,000 youth members who engage in sport, recreation, education, leadership, and cultural programs. PCYC also work with more than 1500 at-risk youth per year to break the cycle of disadvantage through crime prevention, education, and social responsibility programs. 

 

Your Next Role

Based within our new State Office at Sydney Olympic Park and reporting into the Finance Manager, in this Finance Business Partner role you will partner with key stakeholders within the business to ensure the timely and accurate analysis and reporting of financial information. Specific responsibilities will include:
 

  • Assist in preparing reports including cost centre, board, grant acquittals, returns and other government statistical returns  
  • Assist in preparing periodic and yearly financial statements
  • Interpret statistical and financial information to appraise operating results including costs, income, budgets, policies of operations and trends
  • Business Partner Club & State Office Managers providing commercial guidance and assistance
  • Partner with the organisation on budgets, month end results and rolling forecasts
  • Analyse expenditures, contracted expenditure, supplier arrangements, fee revenue, business proposals and projects
  • Assist in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets as well as the preparation and evaluation of capital expenditure proposals
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial ledgers, including assisting in the completion of balance sheet and control account reconciliations
  • Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts

 

About You

You will be willing to put your analytical skills to work as you roll your sleeves up and search for the right answer within our systems. You will have excellent communication and relationship building skills, in addition to:
 

  • Degree qualification in Accounting and working towards CA or CPA
  • A minimum of 3 years financial / management accounting experience, gained from within a medium to large sized organisation
  • Advanced month end processes and financial reporting skills, alongside strong internal control within a finance function
  • Excellent attention to detail and experience working with high volumes of data
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with complex ERP systems such as Technology One is preferred, but not essential
