Company Name: Davidson Executive
Vacancy: 3
Job Location: Melbourne
Employment Status: Full Time
Moonee Valley City Council is seeking dynamic, contemporary people-leaders to support the vision of MV2040. Located in the inner north-western suburbs of Melbourne, Moonee Valley is a welcoming, culturally diverse and inclusive city, host to many beautiful parks and reserves, thriving shopping strips and vibrant arts venues. Our highly talented and dedicated workforce is responsible for providing a range of programs and services to the community. MV2040's vision is for 'a healthy city', where together Council will create and continually improve the conditions that enable all of us to enjoy the highest level of health and wellbeing possible. The MV2040 Strategy will be achieved through a framework of strategic directions, objectives and actions across five themes - Fair, Thriving, Connected, Green and Beautiful. Following an extensive organisational review, we are realigning how we work to deliver for our community. We are implementing a leadership model which serves the organisation and community from the perspectives of three key functions: Think, Do and Enable. MVCC is now seeking a CFO to help improve community outcomes and ensure the organisation can deliver on the exciting ambitions in MV2040. Working collaboratively with the Director Enabling Services, the CFO will commit to shaping a strategic vision of financial sustainability to ensure the City's short and longer term visions and strategies are supported. Taking responsibility for financial planning, reporting and measurement you will oversee the finance function and business partnering approach to ensure the organisation is well connected and can deliver high quality services for the community. As the trusted person for financial information, you will be a key strategist for the Council, CEO and Executive Team and will build excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders over time. Together with your team, you will bring a strong focus on continuous improvement and enhance the overall operations of the finance function. You will support capability growth of your team by creating a positive and empowered workforce that embraces a progressive and warm approach to providing high quality finance support across the organisation. You are a CPA/CA qualified professional with broad experience working in complex environments. An awareness of the legislative and planning frameworks that public sector organisations operate within would be an advantage but not essential. You are calm under pressure and take a collaborative approach to the way you work. You enjoy building relationships and leveraging the knowledge of others across the organisation. You have led the transformation of a finance function in the past and have a track record of developing high performance teams and cultures.
