Company 

This family company has a feedlot capacity of over 30,000 head and is turning off in excess of 100,000 prime cattle per annum supplied to local processors. The company is implementing a strategy to double production over the next 5 years by extending and upgrading the existing feedlot infrastructure. The company is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to build the systems and the team to support the Managing Director achieve the growth objectives. 

Position 

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will implement the financial management functions and processes as well as provide the financial analysis for accurate business forecasting and strategic planning. The CFO will implement timely reporting, risk management strategies and lead the accounting, compliance and corporate governance functions. A key aspect of this senior CFO role will be external stake holder engagement and negotiations with key financial institutions. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Financial risk management, modelling and forecasting  
• Negotiate funding structure and liaison with external business stake holders
• Manage all financial, cash flow and accounting matters 
• Provide accurate financial analysis and reporting 
• Establish procedures and internal management systems 
• Build the accounting structure and taxation strategies 

Skills and Experience 

• Experience in a strategic financial management role as CFO or Finance Director
• Exposure to agricultural/agribusiness, particularly livestock production 
• Management and taxation accounting 
• High-level verbal and written communication skills
• Commercial acumen, excellent negotiation skills and a practical approach 
• Team leadership experience 

Qualifications 

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Agribusiness, or Commerce 
• Qualifications to a Chartered or CPA level
