About the Role

VenuesWest is seeking a qualified finance professional to lead our Finance team. The Chief Financial Officer develops and manages the financial strategy for VenuesWest providing specialist advice to the Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee (FARM), CEO, and Executive Team.  It is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the VenuesWest Finance team and ensuring the effective, efficient and compliant delivery of a financial management, budgeting and accounting services to VenuesWest.

This is a full time, permanent opportunity based at HBF Stadium in Mount Claremont with mobility required between the portfolio of facilities.

About the Person

Leading a team of 9 it is important that the successful applicant demonstrates strong leadership and people management skills whilst upholding and demonstrating high standards of honesty and integrity.

You will have high-level skills, knowledge and experience in a senior role responsible for a broad range of finance services including:

• Ensuring compliance with the Financial Management Act
• Development, implementation and management of financial accounting and budgeting policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, the Financial Management Act 2006, Treasurers Instruction and relevant public sector policies and processes.

A Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or related discipline; and membership of a professional accounting body in compliance with Treasurer’s Instruction TI 824 Chief Finance Officers are requirements of this role.

Eligibility

To be eligible for employment with VenuesWest you must have the following at the time of lodging your application:

• Permanent Appointment
• be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status
• a Special Category Visa with unrestricted stay and work rights for New Zealand citizens
• Fixed Term Employment
• documentary evidence (i.e. working visa) of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the duration of the fixed term appointment

To be eligible for employment with VenuesWest you must have the following at the time of commencement:

• National Police Clearance (obtained within the last three months)

Future Appointments

VenuesWest will utilise this recruitment process to place suitable applicants in a pool for a six month period from which fixed-term and permanent appointments may be made.
