Purpose of the Role:                 

Reporting to our HB General Manager this role is a key member of the Freshco management team contributing to the Hawke’s Bay business in its drive to grow profitably by managing the finance and administration functions.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Prepare annual budget for Freshco Hawke’s Bay business and all Grower partners.
• Prepare monthly & yearly accounts and supporting reconciliation.
• Monitor & Forecast working Cash Flow
• Analyse costs, pricing, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans. Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
• Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.
• Manage daily operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives for Finance staff, and design a framework for these to be met.
• Ensure Packing and Growing data platforms integrate with the accounting software.
• Ensure statutory reporting and other legal, tax compliance requirements are met at all levels.
• Oversee the company’s payroll and work with the People and Performance Manager to ensure we are meeting all employment requirements to comply with Employment Law.
• Manages the business IT requirements and supplier relationships
• Develop and then manage the annual IT budget and help achieve our overall business objectives and cost management.

Qualifications and skills:

• Ability to prepare consolidated financial statements
• Good working knowledge of Tier 1 NZIFRS requirements
• Ability to evaluate new business opportunities and provide clear recommendations
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• The ability to work as part of a team and to build strong working relationships

• An advanced level knowledge of MS Power BI

To ensure success in this role you will be professional and have a happy and helpful nature, proven experience in financial reporting and analysis and process improvement.

You will possess excellent cross-functional relationship management skills and the ability to influence with credibility. Also key are your first-rate interpersonal and communication skills and your ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.

You will be armed with a current, comprehensive understanding of all relevant NZ Financial legislation. Also required is a broad working knowledge of payroll processes (including calculations and reporting), and interfaces with Finance and Human Resources.

Organized with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; resilience is key in this role.

Well-developed critical thinking/analysis skillset and bucketloads of initiative.

Ability to work autonomously and efficiently in a faced pace work environment to a high degree of accuracy.
