Moore Australia (VIC) is looking for a professional and friendly Consultant to join our Family Office team.

About the role

Moore Australia is dedicated to the long-term success of its team members. The Consultant will report to the Associate Director in our Family Office division.

The scope of this role will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for our large family groups. This includes all bookkeeping, data entry, investment administration and reconciling as well as writing the executive summary and collating a final report for distribution to the client. 
  • Preparation of Business Activity and Instalment Activity Statements.
  • Preparation of year-end financial statements and tax returns for all entities.
  • Assisting with audit queries for Self-Managed Superannuation Funds and Private Ancillary Funds. 
  • Communication with a range of external stakeholders including government departments such as the ATO and ASIC, as well as professional associates (e.g. brokers, lawyers and bankers).
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, clients and potential clients. 
  • Actively contribute to the continuous process improvement projects and initiatives for the Family Office team.
  • Provide additional support to the team by assisting with any overflow of work as required.
  • Be relied upon as support for all client queries via phone, email and face-to-face meetings, ensuring all client expectations are met.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or similar undergraduate degree.
  • Proven accounting, management reporting and experience in a similar role within the professional services industry.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain trust, rapport and relationships quickly through stakeholder. engagement and interaction.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, within set budgets and timeframes.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Display critical and innovative thinking.
  • Proactive approach to work.
  • Some knowledge of and exposure to various types of investments.
  • Some knowledge of and exposure to Self-Managed Superannuation Funds and Private Ancillary Funds.
  • Strong knowledge of and exposure to the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Exposure to accounting software, including but not limited to APS, Xero, MYOB and Quickbooks.
