The Role and You

We are seeking a dynamic, commercially savvy, leadership driven and effective Director of Finance to work across the SA Ramsay sites.  The role will be primarily based at The Adelaide Clinic but will require regular visits to Kahlyn Day Centre.

As the Director of Finance you will be responsible for the financial management and financial performance of the hospital. You will be supported by a Finance Service Centre which will undertake the transactional accounting for you however, ownership of the accuracy and integrity of the financials will sit within this role.

Additionally you will be responsible for:

  • Finalisation and analysis of results and identification of opportunities for improvements and growth; 
  • Development of annual budgets and business plans;
  • Management of various non-clinical departments within the hospitals, including Front Office/Patient Administration Private Practice, Billing and Health Information Services;
  • Overseeing the financial management & outcomes of the Supply and Hotel Services departments as well as the management and financial implications of Capital Expenditure;
  • Liaison with corporate finance services regarding reporting and compliance; and
  • Partnering with clinical departments to educate and empower departmental managers to understand, monitor and meet KPIs. 

To be successful in this role you will possess significant commercial acumen, financial management expertise, highly effective leadership skills and the ability to foster strong, positive, and professional relationships with remote and on-site teams. 

You will also have the following criteria:

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications in accountancy/finance management, preferably CPA or CA
  • Minimum 5 years accountancy experience
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen - ability to analyse financial and operational information, develop value creating insights and work collaboratively with the business to improve business performance
  • Demonstrated excellent attention to detail, decision making capabilities and ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs especially Excel
  • Previous experience working with large accounting software packages and financial reporting models including advanced budget preparation
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and support key non-financial stakeholders

Desirable Criteria:

  • Professional membership of an Accounting body (CPA or CA)
  • Financial management experience in a health care environment
  • Knowledge of financial legislation and financial risk management frameworks in a healthcare environment

Experience in a health care setting and knowledge of financial legislation and financial risk management frameworks in a healthcare environment would be viewed favourably.

Kahlyn Day Centre 

A day patient facility since 2003, Kahlyn Day Centre operates Monday to Friday with a suite of day programs to cover most psychiatric disorders. 

The main objective of the Day Program is to provide a supportive environment created by professional staff dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the independent functioning of each patient.
