Farm Environment Consultant
We are looking for someone with farming and nutrient management expertise and passion to work in our Christchurch office. We are open to flexibility of combining office location with working from home for those who would have a long commute.
The role includes:
- resource management planning, including, preparation and audit of assessment of effects for farming, various types of discharge and ground and surface water take and use consents resource consents,
- preparing land use, nutrient management plans and nutrient budgets using Overseer for a wide range of land treatment sites and farming operations,
- providing advice on Good Management Practises, Farm Environment Plans, and Nitrogen Loss Mitigations;
- groundwater and surface water quality sampling;
- writing reports and presenting findings;
- developing new business opportunities.
You
Candidates should have:
- a degree in agricultural science or environmental science;
- minimum 3 years’ experience;
- excellent written and oral communication skills;
- a strong understanding of water resources and nutrient management for New Zealand farming systems. Knowledge, understanding and interest in the agricultural sector is paramount.
- an Intermediate Certificate in Sustainable Nutrient Management (or equivalent expertise in the use of Overseer) is essential, and an Advanced Certificate in Sustainable Nutrient Management would be helpful
- Knowledge of relevant legislation.
