THE ROLE
Reporting to the Operations Director, we are looking for a practical and motivated candidate to lead our Field team in Cockburn Central and use their management skills to develop a high performing team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages client portfolio and delegation of responsibilities.
- Ensures servicing of clients is at high standard and regularly reviews performance of team, and client offering and feedback.
- Actively seeks new clients, understands the competitive landscape and opportunities, and performs quotes for potential work.
- Understand the company's business model and the field team's contribution. Actively seeks to improve profit drivers without compromising people, safety or security.
- Monitoring of team compliance with methods and processes, and development of improvement measures.
- Supports team to manage client relationships, guides and mentors in all aspects of the relationship.
- Manages State field team - all aspects of employee lifecycle; recruitment, training, development, and performance management.
- For candidates with senior stack testing experience, the following responsibilities also apply:
- Manages own clients. This includes jobs which have significant technical difficulty, logistical issues, and new clients.
- Performs checks on test reports, and signs off reports (NATA signatory).
- Performs on-site field testing and oversees large projects and tenders.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Relevant work experience and/or a degree in a related discipline
- Stack testing experience is highly desirable.
- Experience managing budgets and profit projections.
- Able to direct and guide a team of professionals from a technical and people perspective.
YOU MUST ALSO HAVE
- Understanding of profit drivers, and pricing and quoting protocols.
- Business development skills.
- Broader understanding of job lifecycle (tender, quoting, through to invoicing).
- Customer relationship skills.
- Influencing and negotiating skills.
In addition the successful candidate must:
- Have an Australian Drivers Licence (probationary licence is acceptable)
- Have a willingness to travel (estimate max 8 nights away per month, less for those candidates without stack testing experience)
- For those able to undertake stack testing – be comfortable working at heights, a general level of fitness and the ability to lift loads of 25kg.
It is also essential that candidates are willing to expand their learning in environmental testing and keep abreast of new trends and regulations in the industry.
