Finance Accounting Manager

A large utilities organisation located in the North Regional Victoria region are looking for a permanent Financial Reporting Manager to join their established team reporting into the Manager of Finance. This role will oversee a team of 4 and ensure the preparation of consolidated financial statements for the business on a monthly basis along with annual statutory financial statements.

Description

  • Drive continuous improvement of financial information and processes including review of all allocations and general ledger structure.
  • Build and implement best practice corporate reporting framework for Board review
  • Overseeing of the monthly reporting processes including reconciliations, revenue recognition, accruals.
  • Ensure all procedures and processes are accurately performed in order to ensure the integrity of the financial information reported.
  • Manage the preparation of the annual statutory financial statements including all required disclosures and preparation of shell accounts.
  • Ensuring all reporting requirements are met including, regulatory reporting, quarterly, half yearly and annual reporting including variance analysis.
  • Partnering with external stakeholders communicating financial results and advice
  • Identification and analysis of technical accounting issues including recommendations as to proposed treatment.
  • Preparation of briefing papers dealing with technical accounting issues
  • Preparation of year end accounting covering the key financial and reporting issues affecting the annual financial statements.

Profile

  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, policies and procedures
  • Strong systems experience
  • Ideally sector experience within a utilities or government
  • Previous experience of managing a team
  • Ability to partner with non-finance and senior stake holders across the business

Job Offer

My client is paying in the region of $130,000- $140,000 package plus benefits depending on your experience. This role offers flexible working but also looking for someone that's able to be in the office at key times.
