Finance & Administration Assistant

Casual Position (22.5 - 30 hours per week)

The Riverina Conservatorium of Music (RCM) is looking for a person to fulfil a position within the Finance and Administration team of the organisation. 

The preferred candidate will be trustworthy and well organised, have a positive personality demonstrating excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment with a “can do” attitude.

 

Hours and Remuneration

  • 22.5 - 30 hours/week with possible varied or additional hours as required.
  • The RCM follows NSW DoE school terms and closes to the public most of the school holidays, however the admin and finance office does remain partially open during the recess periods.
  • Award base pay starting at MA000002 Lev 3 ($30.426 per hour – current as at 21 Feb 2021).

 

Selection Criteria:

ESSENTIAL

  • Advanced skills and current working experience in Microsoft Excel.
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or equivalent or be studying to gain relevant qualification.
  • Must hold a current NSW drivers license.
  • Must be able and willing to obtain a Working With Children Check clearance.

DESIRABLE

  • Ability to follow directions and demonstrate good time management.
  • Experience in working in a Financial and/or Administrative roles.
  • Skills and experience using Microsoft Office applications (such as Word, Outlook) and Google equivalents.
  • Ability to accommodate to the needs of the Finance and Administration Department’s customers with patience and courtesy utilising various communication skills with reference to liaising with customers, students, staff, departmental colleagues, executives and other RCM patrons.
  • The candidate should be self-motivated, exhibit both proactive and reactive initiative toward department and organisational requirements.
  • Be able to demonstrate a capacity to identify department and organisational outmoded work methods, practices and processes.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and alone.  Have a willingness to work collectively with colleagues and customers to work towards creating and/or implementing changes and updates for work methods, practices and processes.
