Continental Global Material Handling is an Australasia leader in design, manufacture and installation of highly customised and engineered solutions of bulk material handling products and systems in mining and other industrial applications. The systems are ideal for transporting coal, iron ore, gypsum, aggregates, and other bulk materials such as cement, lime, food products, and industrial waste. They have business with customers throughout Australia and have manufacturing facilities in Somersby NSW.

 

Your new role

As Finance & Administration Manager reporting to the Managing Director, this role is key within the Executive Leadership Team and you will provide leadership to Finance, ICT and Human Resources.

You will work closely with the local management team to provide strategic and operational Financial Control accurately on a monthly and adhoc basis supporting the organisation with robust financial information delivering accurate financial reporting to drive organisational decision making.

 

You will
 

  • Work with other executives to drive organisation change programs designed to improve quality and outcomes
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the strategic plan ensuring critical issues are included
  • Ensure that the information presented in financial reports submitted to executives and senior management is endorsed as to its completeness, reliability and accuracy
  • Assist executives and managers in considering resource implications and develop the most effective financial approach to the delivery of services
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate policies and relevant accounting standards including US GAAP and IFRS in the preparation of global and local statutory reporting
  • Manage the overall cash management of the organisation
  • Regularly review and address developments in financial systems to ensure the most appropriate technological support for financial management practices
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, promote the internal control framework and provide financial advice
  • Manage the annual budget process in collaboration with the General Managers and prepare monthly forecasts for review by the Managing Director
  • Analyse internal financial information and budgets to provide advice and assistance
  • Ensure financial reports are based on a sound system of risk management and internal control; and the risk management and internal control system is operating efficiently and effectively
  • Manage and oversee the Information Technology function
  • Manage and oversee the Human Resources function


With a team reporting to you, you will determine staff level requirements and organise the ongoing training needed to keep staff fresh and focused plus upgrading their skill set communicating expectations, roles and responsibilities to team members in a way which encourages your team to take responsibility for their work and makes them feel valued.


What you'll need to succeed

It is essential that you are degree qualified in accounting or a business related discipline to be successful in this role and that you hold a professional accounting qualification (CA / CPA).

You must be able to demonstrate solid commercial experience and be able to demonstrate the full range of financial disciplines.

It is absolutely essential that you can show current management of staff and personnel with strong leadership and exemplary communication.

It is expected that you are detail oriented, that you have a high level of analytical skills, a high-level of Microsoft Excel and data manipulation skills and that you have superior written and verbal communications skills.
