Tahāroa is a small village on the west coast of Waikato, southwest of Kaawhia. Taharoa Holdings Ltd was established in 2020 as a subsidiary of The Proprietors of Taharoa C Block which was established in 1971 to provide economic growth for the beneficiaries of The Proprietors of Taharoa C Block. Taharoa Holdings Ltd has recently developed a governance and organisational structure to manage and grow the commercial and social assets obtained through continual successful business initiatives. Since operations were managed remotely, they have decided to realign and incorporate operation functions back to the Waikato where it all began. This means, they are now looking to appoint a vibrant and engaging Accounts Superstar to take Taharoa Holdings Ltd into the next phase of development.
This solutions-focused role will concentrate on supporting the efficient running of the AR and AP operations. More specifically, key responsibilities include processing invoices, investigating discrepancies, processing the collection and receipting of payments, daily bank reconciliations, monitoring and undertaking financial transactions, administration and preparing monthly and year end reconciliations. Assisting with any customer queries and requests, ordering stationery and supporting the external finance team are also important aspects of the role.
To be successful, you will need to have a minimum of three years’ experience working in an Accounts Payable/Receivable role within a corporate environment. You will also need to have proficient experience using Xero, the Microsoft Suite of products specifically Excel and be IT literate. You will also need an excellent community development orientation and solutions focused mentality and have a positive attitude that is happy to muck in and help out when needed. The ability to work in a Kaupapa Māori environment with an appreciation of tikanga Māori is preferred but not essential, however you will need to be highly driven by processes and systems. Working towards a qualification or holding a relevant qualification is essential.
These are exciting times for Taharoa Holdings Ltd, as they create a new team, systems and culture based in Hamilton. As they are looking to expand the team and profile, this role will play an integral part in their continuation to grow the reputation of Taharoa Holdings Ltd as a credible business partner.
