Finance Business Partner, EY Port Jackson Partners

The opportunity

This is a fixed term parental leave cover contract for 12 months. Working closely with the Partners and leadership team of EY Port Jackson Partners, as Finance Business Partner you will play a key role in this growing practice. We are looking for a commercially focussed finance practitioner, ideally with experience working in professional services organisations. • Commercial analysis to support EY PJP leadership
  • Support in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Analysing practice performance and drivers
  • Tracking and estimation of Practice and Partner KPIs
  • Ad hoc commercial analysis
• Administer and monitor the financial system in order to ensure EY PJP finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner
• Manage the system interface and project economics across the engagement life cycle from initiation to completion
  • Establishment of project in the system and confirmation of project economics
  • Monitor and adjust project WIP/budget/estimates throughout the project
  • Manage billing, accounts receivable and project close
• Prepare management accounts and financial reports
  • Monthly management accounts and close (P&L, BS)
  • Establish, maintain and reconcile the General Ledgers
  • Manage payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable through EY
  • Generate and refine standing weekly and monthly finance reports
• Interface between EY PJP and EY on all finance matters and queries
• Ensure adherence to all relevant policies and procedures in accordance with EY PJP Operating System (e.g. expenses, timesheets etc)  
   

Skills and attributes for success

• 8-10 years of relevant commercial experience, ideally having supported a senior professional client base; experience of and appreciation for the challenges of a smaller organisation  
• Proactive attitude towards problem solving and overcoming obstacles
• Ability to manage time well and prioritise effectively in a dynamic work environment
• A clear communication style that is jargon free and effective
• Influencing skills, and an ability to build and maintain credibility and rapport with a range of different stakeholders
• Flexible style, with the confidence to work independently and also in a highly collaborative way, as required
• Attention to detail is key, as high-quality analysis and focus on details is the foundation of our work - for our clients and for our practice

EY Port Jackson Partners formed in June 2020 when Port Jackson Partners, a leading Australian boutique strategy consulting firm, joined EY as part of its vision to build a global Tier 1 Strategy practice. Our focus for over 30 years has been on serving Boards, CEOs and senior executives across the public and private sectors with advice to solve their most complex issues. Our practice now includes around 70 people working across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

This role is based in Sydney and offers flexibility for part-time or full-time hours.
