The Company

We are a long established and a highly respected manufacturer, distributor and installer servicing the Australian outdoor leisure market. Due to significant growth and with a fresh vision from our new owners we currently require the services of a highly motivated Accountant looking to take the next step in their career.

The ideal applicant will be an experienced, hands on commercial and financial leader who can develop our accounting and business systems whilst operating in both a strategic and operational capacity.

The Role

This newly created role reports to the General Manager and has overall financial control and oversight for the business. This is an important and senior position that will play a pivotable role in developing and managing our financial capability in line with our business plans and statutory obligations whilst leading and mentoring a small, specialised team.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for leading the month end process through the Syspro financial system and ultimate ownership of the integrity of the general ledger.
• Prepare and continue to the develop the monthly financial reporting pack for the board including detailed analysis of key drivers of business performance.
• Providing financial leadership and training to the operational management team.
• Heavy focus on the continued development and mentoring of the finance team.
• Drive the identification and implementation of process and system improvements.
• Adding value to business performance through financial analysis and identifying areas of improvement and assisting to develop metric driven ROI based decision making.
• Support the development of the strategic plan through the provision of relevant financial data
• Oversee the preparation of the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Management of the Syspro ERP system and general IT infrastructure.
• Oversee payroll processing.
• Oversee ATO statutory reporting.
• Detailed management of working capital including overview of cashflow and liquidity forecasting.
• Identify and drive cost saving efficiencies and manage these projects.

The Person

A Finance Manager who enjoys working in a inventory / manufacturing environment with a proven track record of identifying and implementing change that improves business performance and has the following:

•     Tertiary qualified and CPA or CA qualified.

•     Experience with ERP systems (Syspro preferred)

•     Advanced Microsoft Excel.

•     Professional, personable, excellent leadership and communication skills.

•     Ability to work at ‘hands on’ level and back fill other accounts roles when required.

•     Experience with inventory management in a light manufacturing environment.

•     Experience with importing and FX would be very beneficial.
