Exciting newly created role heading up Category Finance – A rare opportunity to drive a best in class business partnering function.

This role is a trusted business partner to the Category and Marketing GMs in the development of long-term growth plans through exemplary finance leadership that enhances the financial shape of our categories. The role is also responsible for collaborating with each of the heads of category on establishing and facilitating governance forums to drive and support the delivery of the categories long-term initiatives, playing and active role managing and tracking progress on step change initiatives and understanding the impact and relationship with all supply chain drivers.

You will also proactively demonstrate behaviour that engenders and promotes the Simplot values. 

• Partner with the Category GM in the development of the categories strategies through exemplary finance leadership
• You will be a key player in the development and execution of the categories strategy, including competitive analyses, consumer insights, portfolio strategy, and growth drivers
• Coordinate the build and management of the categories 3-10 year plans across all commercial controllable assumptions and factors in collaboration with the Channel Finance Managers, Marketing Finance Manager and FP&A
• Ability to track, measure and adapt agreed plans to deliver against that strategy
• Drive Commercial Strategic Projects and continuous improvement 
• Support the  Strategy team in building long term plans for future investments and monitor progress against those priorities 
• Identify and adopt process simplification and cost efficiencies for the category to enable Innovation and investment growth funding
• Provide analyses, evaluations and implications of key learnings that will be applied in the development of future best practices
• Leadership - Partner the Head of Commercial Finance and broader FLT to lead the Finance function, developing and role modelling the Finance vision, and driving the overall capability of the function

Appropriately qualified, you will be a leader of the future with strong commercial, financial and systems skills enabling you to partner key stakeholders across the Simplot organisation and drive Category performance. A strong strategic thinker you will have the ability to provide best in class commercial insights and decision support. Actively sharing knowledge, best practices and new ideas, and working effectively within and across team and boundaries. Constantly seeking out new value creating opportunities and actively working to build Commercial Finance capabilities to support the category teams to deliver growth plans. Encouraging their teams, peers and colleagues to support and exploit new technologies and innovation.

• Proven FMCG and Retail experience including strategy, and project management within a Finance leadership capacity
• Relevant associated degree within Finance
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Strong influential and communication style

• A strong ability to analyse complex information and provide sound, well-reasoned decisions
