We are looking for a full-time (7.5 hours plus 0.5 hour unpaid lunch break Monday to Friday) Finance Manager to start ASAP. The role includes (but is not limited to): 

Duties:

  • Co-ordinate work of the finance and accounts department, determine priorities
  • Budget setting across cost centres and performance projections
  • External reporting to government departments
  • Provide financial guidance and support to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, with a view to manage expectations
  • Guidance, coaching and ongoing development of team members
  • Prepare team for large scale invoicing runs and make necessary calculations
  • Monitor accuracy of bank and credit card reconciliations performed by team members
  • Processing and reconciliation of payroll and superannuation, including meeting STP obligations, for up to 100 employees
  • Interpretation and compliance assurance for 3 modern awards
  • Prepare quarterly BAS and monthly PAYG lodgements
  • Maintain Fixed Assets Register and monitor acquisitions, disposals and write-offs
  • Prepare monthly management reports and P/L reports for senior management and cost centre managers
  • Prepare and/or review balance sheet reconciliations
  • Identify issues in suspense and clearing ledgers and resolve as appropriate
  • Reconcile investment account ledgers against reports provided by portfolio managers, claim franking credit refunds from ATO
  • Oversee major event finances, monitoring adherence to approved budgets, timely collection of event fees and payments of invoices
  • Oversee Manjedal Activity Centre finances, aged debts and monthly reporting
  • Oversee Scouts WA Recycling finances, loan and lease management and monthly reporting
  • Oversee Scouts WA Store function including quarterly stocktakes, management of inventory levels, international supplier relationship management and data analytics
  • Management and acquittal of grants for the Association and individual Scout Groups
  • Perform year-end adjustments and prepare company file for external audit
  • Ensure sufficient documentation exists to comply with audit requirements and improve policies and procedures as required
  • Assist various cost centre managers with unplanned ad-hoc tasks as they arise

 

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly report writing
  • Strong stakeholder management ability
  • Ability to multi-task and work to conflicting deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, membership of a professional accounting body ideal
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Knowledge and experience with MYOB AccountRight
  • A team player, with a positive can-do attitude and dynamic personality
  • Ability to complete out of hours work when required
