Financial Accountant - $110K Pack + Shares -START UP

Role Overview
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will have responsibility for multiple pillars including accounting, reporting and analysis. As the Financial and Management Accountant you will lead the month end process and ensure the integrity of the balance sheet. On a day-to-day basis, this will include processing journals, preparing balance sheet reconciliations and conducting daily bank reconciliations. In addition, you will lead a project to in house the tax compliance function and also prepare the first set of in house income tax return. You will be the driver, the owner as well as the doer. This is your opportunity to prove yourself and be promoted to a management level role in 12 - 18 months as the business rapidly expands.

60% of your time will see you being involved in and leading finance projects including accounting standards review and implementing new budgeting and forecasting processes. Hence, this role requires a solutions focused attitude and a Financial and Management Accountant who will thrive in an environment where they will be required to continually problem solve. This is a brilliant opportunity for a qualified accountant who is looking for an entry into a successful start-up with a clear progression path within 12 - 18 months. A background from a Big 4 or Mid Tier accounting firm will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Ensure monthly close occurs in accordance with finance timetable.
• Ensure all statutory requirements are met with required deadlines.
• Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations for all group companies are prepared and reviewed on a monthly basis.
• Identify opportunities for process and procedure improvements and work with management to implement.
• Prepare all taxation submissions
• Preparation of all management and board reporting
• Carrying out consolidation for 10 + entities.
• Partner with the business to prepare annual budgets and monthly rolling forecast
• Provision of data and analytical support to functions including business case development
• Commercial Support and Analysis to business units as required
• Assist in the preparation of the year end statutory accounts.

Candidate Profile
You are a fully qualified CA/CPA and have the track record of a top performer. Ideally you are trained from a Big 4 or top mid-tier professional services firm. You are a natural business partner who thrives on driving value and efficiency within processes and reporting. You also have extensive experience in the use of excel and are interested in getting your hands dirty to build a finance function that will help scale a start-up. Your problem solving and critical thinking skills are your strengths and you communicate at all levels with ease and confidence.
