THE ROLE:
Located at BMW Group Australia head office in Mulgrave and reporting to the Accounting, Tax and Customs Manager, this role manages all key aspects of financial accounting within the BMW Group Australia organisation.  Covering balance sheet accountability, accuracy and correctness of financial statements in cooperation with external audit, as well as analysing and planning for the Company's liquidity status, this role assists the management to manage business risks and financials.
 
The successful candidate will be able to apply accuracy and due-diligence when managing the following responsibilities:
  • Ensure the month end closing adhere to local and global reporting requirements.
  • Manage and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Coordinate external audit for half year review and full year audit.
  • Prepare consolidated group yearly statutory accounts in accordance with reporting requirements, and respond to external audit on the statutory accounts.
  • Manage the fixed assets schedule and accounting and tax depreciation schedules.
  • Supervise Accounts Payable function and also Accounts Receivable function.
  • Perform cash flow forecast.
  • Identify and implement process efficiency gains within the accounting function.
  • Assist any ad-hoc projects and requests regarding accounting.


WHO YOU ARE:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
  • 3 years+ corporate accounting experience or equivalent.
  • A tertiary qualification in commerce or accounting with CPA qualification or equivalent.
  • Supervision experience or small team management experience is highly regarded.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite in particular advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Working knowledge & experience with SAP.
  • Accounting experience preferably with a large organisation.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, displays initiative and a problem solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Open to change.
