A bit about the role…
We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our small friendly team. This is a broad role which will suit a generalist who prefers variety. Along with working closely with the finance team, you will also be the go to person for the wider team. We have three branches: Petone, Upper Hutt and Porirua.  This role will be based out of our modern offices at our main location in Petone with some flexibility and occasional travel to the other two sites. 

 

  • Cash flow management and daily reconciliations
  • Ensure the integrity and operation of the general ledger
  • Month end processing and producing monthly financial reports
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support the Financial Controller and work closely with the Credit Controller and  
  • Accounts Payable team
  • Preparation of FBT & GST returns
  • Budget and Forecasting
  • Various ad hoc projects and requests to keep the months challenging and interesting

 

A bit about you…

  • CA qualified, post CA qualification experience is not a requirement
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products including MS Excel
  • Working knowledge of Xero, Dext and ApprovalMax an advantage but not required
  • A positive, can do attitude
  • An ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain strong working  

  relationships and have the patience to provide assistance to the wider team to understand  

  the numbers

  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and uses initiative
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to display sound judgement and logical thinking
  • Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service to all internal and external customers
