About the department

The Novo Nordisk Oceania affiliate, covering Australia and New Zealand, is a growing and dynamic organization within a mature pharma market environment, with passionate and committed employees.  Our purpose is to drive change to defeat diabetes and other serious chronic diseases, such as obesity and rare blood and endocrine disorders.  We do so by pioneering scientific breakthroughs, expanding access to our medicines, and working to prevent and ultimately cure diabetes.

 

The position

Located at our brand new head office in North Sydney and reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role will see you being a business partner to all areas of the organization across accounting and providing Financial, Tax and Management reporting to internal and external customers.

 

Other key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

 

  • Ensuring a transparent financial reporting/monitoring and planning process (Revised estimates (RE), Anchor Budget (AB), medium term planning (MTP)) for the affiliate;
  • Being a strong business partner to the New Zealand affiliate and liaising with the NZ Country Manager;
  • Managing the monthly end to end payroll process for Oceania;
  • Managing the month-end and year-end process for New Zealand;
  • Tracking of changes in national legislation, NN policies and Financial Accounting Standards (IFRS) and ensuring local staff and LWPs are updated accordingly;
  • Reporting to local management, regional and global management and Australian & New Zealand authorities;
  • Continuously developing the financial reporting and planning processes to streamline and simplify information handling;
  • Ensuring accruals and prepayments are processed correctly on a monthly basis;
  • Preparing Financial Statements, GST, FBT and Income Tax return;
  • Ensuring timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Liaising with external auditors;
  • Overseeing the timely preparation of stock reconciliation for year-end audit;
  • Managing cash forecasting and dividend calculation for New Zealand;
  • Managing cross charge update on a quarterly basis for New Zealand.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • CPA or CA qualified, with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or any related field.
  • A proven successful track record in a similar business partnering role.
  • Solid understanding of New Zealand International Financial Reporting Standards and tax legislations and rulings.
  • Experienced in business reporting.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experienced user of SAP FI, CO and BW modules is desirable.
  • Fluent English communication skills.
  • You must either be an Australian Citizen or have a current residency visa to live and work in Australia.
