Financial Accountant

  • Full time permanent role

An excellent opportunity awaits an experienced Financial Accountant who is looking for a new role with a forward thinking company.  Our client, Claymark is a leading timber manufacturer who is entering an exciting time of growth and expansion with new owners. You will be preparing the company’s financial and management accounts and aiding the Group’s Management Team to enable effective business planning and management.  You will be joining a highly effective, driven team on multiple sites. 

Daily duties include:

  • Recording, reporting and accurately managing the financial transactions
  • Circulating daily KPI’s in a timely and accurate manner
  • Preparing month and year end processing and reconciliations
  • Monthly reporting of process centre costs, and unit rates
  • Monthly and yearly reporting
  • Providing analysis and assisting the Senior Management team
  • GST, PAYE and FBT returns
  • Maintaining fixed asset register – monthly and year-end calculations and reconciliations
  • Liaising and preparing external audit file for auditors
  • Assisting with foreign currency and treasury transactions
  • Providing relief support to the Finance, Payroll & Admin team as required

Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a professional manner and the ability to positively connect with internal and external advisers. A sound understanding of reconciliation processes and procedures both on a practical or commercial level is required. The ability to multi-task, work under pressure to meet deadlines and exercising sound judgement when problem solving is important. Competency in Word and advanced Excel is required, along with a strong accounting system knowledge.  Previous experience in manufacturing or forest industries is preferable.  If you have a positive and friendly personality, a great sense of humour and you are ready for a new challenge then we would love to hear from you!
