Chandler Macleod, in collaboration with Santos, is currently seeking office and field-based professionals for contract opportunities across Australia.
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager - Onshore, this newly created position sits within a team of commercially minded Finance Analysts, who partner with Santos' production operations on cost and reporting related matters. Specifically, this role will include:
- Producing and reviewing monthly reporting packs for/with key stakeholders
- Providing key stakeholders with analysis, insight and commentary in relation to business performance, including performance against targets and trends, key business drivers and performance metrics
- Preparing budgets, quarterly forecasts, and latest estimates for areas supported
- Performing month-end accounting including preparation and review of journals for posting by Financial Services, review of results and completion of appropriate integrity checks prior to ledger close
- Providing support to responses to audit queries
- Contributing to half-year and year-end reporting requirements to Group Finance
- Supporting projects focused on improvement to decision making processes and systems
- Providing ad-hoc analysis to support decision making as required
Your key skills and experience includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required) with CA/CPA (desired)
- Significant experience in corporate accounting or financial accounting, ideally within oil and gas, mining, manufacturing or similar
- Strong computer literacy within ERP systems (SAP or Oracle preferred)
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
