About The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will deliver quality and efficient transactional accounting and reporting services to key stakeholders throughout the Business, including the Asset Decision Support Teams, Group Finance, Group Taxation, Treasury, Group Insurance, Production Allocation & Commercial. This will be delivered in line with company values and the Santos Management System.

Specifically, this role will be accountable for:

• Preparing and posting actual and accrual journals
• Assembling audit data as required
• Inputting operated and non-operated Joint Venture accounting and providing reports
• Efficient generation and input of Sales Invoices
• Calculation, lodgement and payment of monthly and quarterly Overriding Royalties(ORR), Product Royalties and Primary Resource Rent Tax (PRRT)
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
• Preparation of Subsidiary statutory financial statements and tax models
• Participate in process improvement projects across Finance
• Additional activities as required by the Financial Controller

About You

Ideally, you will have:

• Bachelor level qualifications in accounting, commerce or a similar business related discipline
• Experience working in large corporate businesses within a financial accounting position
• Experience using SAP (preferred) as well as MS Excel and other analytical tools
• Strong skills in financial analysis and reporting
• The ability to build strong relationships, based upon strong communication and people engagement skills
• A forward-thinking outlook and the ability to navigate complex environments at pace
