Financial Reporting Lead

Role Statement

 Bentleys Qld has an exciting opportunity for a new team member to support the financial reporting for our large reporting entity clients.

You may be an ex auditor who no longer wishes to just ‘audit’, in a commercial financial reporting role, or be a business services accountant wishing to focus specifically on financial reporting. Whilst you will be coming into a business services team, you would not be doing any 'tax'.

We currently use ‘accurri’ as our financial reporting tool to facilitate pour client support.

You would be joining a ‘client first’  focused team who has a range of interesting clients - some of which are the largest of their kind in Australia.

Role Activities

  • Preparation of General-Purpose (and Special purpose) Financial Statements from source data prepared by our interesting and diverse clients for lodgement with ASIC or other regulators
  • Assisting with advice and application of accounting standards and policies across a range of clients in various industries
  • Liaising with clients, managers, associate directors to solve queries, manage workflow and client deliverables
  • Client relationship management and development (to the extent you want) – from client engagement, through to delivery and billing (we always agree fixed fees in advance to ensure no surprises for our clients)
  • Ensuring both technical skills and industry and client knowledge are maintained through attending relevant training sessions, reading and personal research;
  • Assisting in the development of systems and processes that will ensure all work is performed to the highest professional standard and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the firm;
  • Assisting in the firm’s staff training requirements including presenting staff training, participating in discussions at staff training, and identifying training requirements;

Person Specification

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working within an audit or financial accounting role and a Solid understanding of Australian accounting standards and their application
  • A client focused self-starter and motivated team player
  • Strong commercial acumen and a focus on continual business improvement
  • Strong organisational skills with a methodical and analytical mindset
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • The ability to work independently and manage time to ensure services are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Experience in aged care financial reporting would be positive, but not necessary

To apply for this rewarding opportunity, we invite you to submit your resume together with a covering letter that outlines your suitability for the role.

Candidates are encouraged to apply directly as applications will not be accepted from agencies unless by prior agreement.
