Join our Product and Process Development team at our National Office in Bayswater, your role will encompass all aspects of new product development as well as existing product and process improvements.

This role will suit a recent graduate with initial industry experience or an intern looking for the next step in their career. We are looking for an individual with a creative flair and passion about food, with experience in either food process engineering or food technology.

About PFD Fresh To Go:

PFD Fresh to Go is a National manufacturer of ready made sandwiches, wraps and salads to market sectors that include petrol and convenience, airlines, healthcare and food service. Manufacturing sites spread across 6 states allowing us to service larger food service national customers as well as state based opportunities.

The duties will include:

• Work on product and process development projects
• Assist with compiling customer submissions
• Develop specifications and work instructions on PFD and customer databases
• Liaise with Internal and external stakeholders such as customers and suppliers for project requirements
• Conduct risk assessments on new suppliers and raw materials identified by NPD team 
• Provide back up support for team on labelling system maintenance

The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:

• Able to work autonomously on projects with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail – required due to the volume of documents managed and information that is generated both for internal and customer use
• Creative / innovative / culinary – passionate about food
• Critical thinking / problem solving – solution and continuous improvement focus

Experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in Process Engineering or Food Technology
• Min 2 years experience in FMCG food processing industry, ideally high risk/high care products although not essential
• Exposure to retail supermarket customer product management systems
• Experience with nutritional management systems (e.g. Foodworks or similar) other ideal but not critical
