Grand Hotels International is a unit within the Hotel Grand Central Limited, Singapore.  A company listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange. The Group owns a chain of hotels and properties across Australia and New Zealand. Its Regional Head Office for Australia and New Zealand located in the Wellington Central Business District in New Zealand is going through growth by growing its portfolio. This position exists to ensure the Group's operations is in line with the corporate governance framework.

 
The Internal Auditor role will see the successful candidate to be able to execute the full spectrum of internal audit work within the group ie Australia and New Zealand and to provide strategic input. The candidate will also to ensure the successful execution of various internal audit projects.

 

The main task, duties and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Evaluate governance, risk and control frameworks
  • Design and drive risk management control reviews
  • Deliver sustainable insights and recommendations on elevating the internal control framework and in managing risk
  • Report to and provide the Audit Committee with timely reviews of individual properties and progress in its various programs and activities.
  • Work with management to design appropriate resolutions to issues raised and set reasonable time frames for corrective actions and audit recommendations
  • Drive ongoing follow up and action for recommendations raised and ensure alignment across all key stakeholders
  • liaise with the external auditors
  • This role will involve travel to property locations throughout Australia and New Zealand
  • Ad-hoc project work as requested by the Audit Committee

 

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • Be available to start within four to six weeks
  • Have an Audit /Accounting background with Hospitality experience of a minimum of three years
  • Hold an Accounting qualification or about to qualify
  • Have a strong work ethic and be comfortable working autonomously
