The Opportunity
CSA has historically outsourced the majority of its internal finance functions. However this newly created role will bring this function in-house, develop it out and take the current function and capability to a new level, as CSA sets up for scaling and expansion. 

Reporting to the GM, the Head of Finance will be strategic and highly important to the overall management of the CSA group. The Head of Finance will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. 

This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, financial strategic planning, project costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, key stakeholder relationships and institutional financing. 

The Role 

  • Provide leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives
  • Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts
  • Take hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive project cost system
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions of the organisation
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs / strategies and regulatory action
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior members of the team so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions
  • Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities
  • Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, consolidation and reporting to the Company
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial tax reporting and compliance

What We Seek | Culture and Experience
CSA is seeking a dynamic, people-focused leader who can demonstrate business management experience gained in high growth and enterprise environments. It is essential that the Head of Finance is flexible to work at the strategic level whilst ensuring core operational capabilities are in place to deliver quality outcomes in line with the CSA culture and high growth objectives. 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Accounting or Economics;
  • 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in fast growth, entrepreneurial environments 
  • Proven senior leadership capability, including building a high-performing finance team with a strong culture of accountability and collaboration
  • Experience working as part of a leadership team on business planning, strategy development, performance management and risk mitigation activities
  • Strong commercial management experience, including management of business financials, commercial contract negotiation, business case development, budget management and cashflow forecasting
  • Experience working on business scale and new market entry strategy and execution
  • A track-record of success leading growing businesses, including optimising operations, profit and revenue position whilst scaling 
  • Experience managing and optimising supplier relationships and terms to reduce cost, improve margins and ensure quality and timely service
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results- orientation
