Elevate Accounting is a boutique accounting firm which specialises in providing business advisory services using leading cloud-based business software. Our approach enables clients to improve time efficiency and maximise their profitability. We are a growing business and currently have 20 team members. We are based in Mount Pleasant and the office is easily accessible.

Opportunity:

We require an accountant to join our team due to rapid and sustained growth. The role requires an intermediate to senior level accountant to assist with accounting, tax and business advisory services. We are a unique firm with a focus on advisory (30% compliance / 70% advisory) and the successful candidate will be exposed to a great environment to learn and develop their skills. Initially the candidate will be required to assist with compliance support and then advance their way to providing business advice to clients. There is a clear pathway for the successful candidate to advance to manager. We have an exceptional high-performing team and require a candidate with a strong work ethic and desire to learn.

The role is full-time, primarily working on site at our Mount Pleasant office, with the ability to undertake some work from home. We have a flexible WFH policy and invest in the best technology.

We generally only work with business clients (and their associated family groups). We don't work with individuals or non-business clients. We are looking for a team member who aspires (in the future) to work directly with clients in a business advisory capacity and has great inter-personal skills to be able to participate in client meetings.

As a business we don't reward individual performance, but rather the team share in a profit pool to celebrate their success as a team. We have a strong culture and great social environment.

The role includes working with our team, the managers, the Managing Director and also liaising with clients directly.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing year end financial statements and income tax returns
  • Preparing monthly / quarterly management reports for presentation to clients
  • Completing business activity statements
  • Providing tax, accounting and business advice
  • Liaising with our bookkeeping team
  • Assisting and overseeing our junior staff team
  • Assisting with SMSF processing via Class
  • Adopting new apps and technology to assist clients

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • 2-3 years public practice experience
  • CA/CPA qualified or nearing qualificaiton
  • Strong experience in Xero
  • Strong adaptability with new technology
  • Experience with Class Superannuation (preferred but not essential)
  • Organised and good communication skills
  • Willing to learn and develop
