Protax Returns have been successfully operating an accounting firm in the heart of Sydney CBD offering a wide variety of accounting services to companies and individuals. We are now seeking an experienced Internal Auditor for a full-time role within our organisation. As an Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for assessing and evaluating financial, operational and managerial documentation providing suggestions related to business financial and operational integrity and compliance.

Your duties are:

• Assessing compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and contracts
• Assessing efficiency, effectiveness, economy, and ethical conduct of business activities
• Designing and implementing audit methodologies, processes and report criteria
• Planning and managing the delivery of the audits
• Evaluating fraud risk scenarios
• Reviewing achievement of organisation objectives
• Assessing if decisions are properly authorised, as well as reliability and integrity of information are maintained
• Preparing audit reports and presenting findings to stakeholders including any risk to business assets
• Following up on previous audits to confirm remedial actions have been effectively implemented
• Working towards continuous improvement in relation to company policy and procedures

Requirements

• At least 2 years of highly relevant work experience
• Bachelor or higher degree in a relevant field
• Ability to understand financial documentation
• Outstanding attention to detail skills
• Outstanding communication skills
• Experienced in using accounting systems including MYOB, QuickBooks and Xero
• Ability to communicate properly with all levels of stakeholders
• Living in Sydney would be desired but not essential
• Speaker of Portuguese language would be highly regarded considering the background of our clientele
