The Role

Assist the Payroll Team in delivering the fortnightly payroll and associated administrative support. The Payroll Officer role at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse is broad and varied, supporting all staff and managers across the business, every day will bring new challenges. In performing this role, you must ensure that the Lifehouse vision, values and behaviours are integrated into all aspects of your work.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing end to end payroll services
  • Administering and maintaining Aurion and Kronos systems
  • Supporting the payroll team in managing the day to day administration of the payroll function including monitoring of the Payroll inbox and administering processes via My HR Online, scanning and filing payroll paperwork and maintaining the payroll electronic filing system
  • Assisting staff and managers with payroll queries and respond within 24 hours

Essential Selection Criteria

  • A well-developed understanding and sound intermediate level experience in a payroll environment.
  • A demonstrated ability to understand and comply with legal and statutory requirements and processes
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • High level of numeracy skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with integrated Payroll, HR and time and attendance system (Aurion & Kronos) 
  • Able to confidently convey ideas and information both verbally and in writing, to meet the needs of target audiences
  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Proven speed, accuracy and efficiency in data entry
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

Desirable Selection Criteria

  • A tertiary qualification in an associated area will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to think outside the square and improve business processes
