Laboratory Supervisor (Chemistry) - Scoresby, VIC

About the Position
ALS Food & Pharmaceutical is seeking to employ a Laboratory Supervisor (Chemistry) to join their team in Scoresby, VIC. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, this is an excellent opportunity to lead a team that strives to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time and by maintaining strong relationships with clients.
 
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in the day-to-day functions of the Chemistry Laboratory.
  • Investigating and resolving technical queries externally and internally.
  • Liaising with clients to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Leading and developing Individuals to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time.
  • Ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with the Quality Procedures Manual.
  • Supervising and training of laboratory staff.
  • Ensuring production targets are met and high-quality services to clients are maintained.
  • Assist in monitoring instrument performance and preventative maintenance.
  • Ensuring compliance with the laboratory's QC requirements.
  • Preparing standards for sample analysis.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving with any aspects of the section.
  • Maintaining supply of consumables to ensure the smooth running of the section.
  • NATA Signatory for all relevant methods.
About you
To be successful, you will require:
  • Successful completion of tertiary qualifications in Science (preferably majoring in Chemistry) and 3-5 years previous laboratory experience.
  • Previous signatory responsibility across wet chemistry and instrumentation.
  • A working knowledge of sample preparation, wet chemistry, instrumental and MS techniques.
  • A strong understanding of ISO 17025, NATA and/or TGA and FSANZ regulations.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and management aptitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ambition and commitment to your own personal growth and a career with ALS.
  • A strong and demonstrated commitment to safety and quality without compromise.
  • Previous experience with allergens would be advantageous.
