Our client is a 100% Australian owned business who specialise in 4WD dual cab vehicle conversions, project builds, chassis extensions, canopies, trays, and vehicle upgrades.  Locally owned and operated, they have built a reputation for exceptional products and services supported by continuous design improvements and innovation.
 
They now have an opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join their team and take control of all financial aspects of the company.  Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this hands-on person will play a pivotal role in the growth of the business and be accountable for:

• Ensuring appropriate accounting processes and procedures are utilized in a timely and accurate manner
• The ongoing accuracy and currency of all the company financial information
• Provide education and direction to supporting administration staff
• Monitoring and reporting on expenditure, key performance indicators and sales outcomes
• Liaise with financial institutions and brokers in regard to capital purchases
• Participate and advise on business performance at management meetings
• Preparation and presentation of financial statements including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets
• Reconciliation and submission of all statutory returns including Business Activity Statements
• Preparation and processing of weekly payroll including all PAYG, Superannuation and Payroll Tax requirements
• Management and maintenance of accurate cashflow reporting inclusive of data from both the sales and production departments;
• EOM reconciliation of all company bank statements, credit cards and fuel tax credits
• Accounts payable and receivable reconciliation and recommendations including the scheduling of payments

To be successful you will need a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in a manufacturing environment where job costing and cashflow control are key.  A degree in Accounting and knowledge of MYOB and Xero is a must, and experience in ERP systems is desirable.  You will need exceptional attention to detail and thoroughness in all aspects of your role as your reports and recommendations will be used in key business decisions.  We are seeking more than just number crunching – this position requires excellent communication skills and an ability to show initiative in providing current, relevant information and suggestions for improvements to the Senior Management team.
