About your role

An opportunity exists for a motivated Manager to join our dedicated team.

This role is primarily responsible for taking a leadership role of the team with regards to both clients and employees.

The Manager utilises their proven skills in engagement, execution, client interaction and business development to support key stakeholders, add value and deliver improved financial performance.  The Manager proactivily builds relationships internally to promote cross selling and developing external networks to build a client base.

As a part of this high performing team, you will be responsible for:

  1. Application of management accounting principles and tools in order to achieve wealth creation for clients in accordance with Value Based Management approaches. 
  2. Develop and manage client relationships/needs through a detailed understanding of the client’s business. Raising value added services with the client. Sourcing the right person to address those needs and project manage multiple needs of a client.
  3. Heavy involvement in strategic functions of firm development and contribution to development of firm policy and procedure.
  4. Responsibility for career development of team members, participation in performance appraisals, addressing competency and performance concerns, identifying training needs and coaching.
  5. Present training and development activities for other staff within the firm. Spend time in individual teaching and coaching. 
  6. Manage productivity of team members, workflow coordination, budget preparation and staff scheduling. 
  7. Management of client profitability including management of debtor control, fees and work in progress.
  8.  Create continued professional fee growth and create new business.

To be successful in this role you will need the following skills and attributes

  • Membership of Institute of Chartered Accountants or CPA Australia with 5 - 10 years experience, or proven ability in a similar role.
     
  • High level technical ability in accounting and taxation, including indirect taxes.
     
  • Ability to identify business performance issues and produce commercially relevant advice and solutions in areas of cashflow/solvency, business improvement and management reporting. 
     
  • Detailed knowledge of Corporate Governance focus including risk management, quality assurance and policy and procedure. 
     
  • Knowledge of changes occurring in the accounting environment and the    impact on PKF.
     
  • Ability to meet deadlines and organise time efficiently.
     
  • A confident, trustworthy, client-facing demeanour.
     
  • A friendly, positive personality with excellent communication skills.
