We are seeking an experienced permanent fulltime Microbiologist to join our friendly and professional Quality Assurance Department located at our purpose-built Northgate facility. Reporting to the Microbiology Team Leader, this role will complete Laboratory activities relating to the microbiological testing of starting materials, bulk products, finished goods, production water and environmental monitoring using varied techniques. The Microbiologist will also ensure appropriate standards within the microbiology laboratory to meet expectations on the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) to ensure we retain our A1 rating.
Key responsibilities
Perform microbiological analysis to applicable compliance requirements such as TGO100, British Pharmacopoeia/Harmonised Pharmacopoeia and Australian Standards
Ensuring that testing requirements are scheduled to deliver results within expected lead times, and to provide timely feedback to stakeholders when delays to product availability occur
Performing assessment investigations; ensuring all out-of-specification & non-compliance investigations & reporting functions are completed in a timely fashion
Establish, execute, review and evaluate laboratory procedures and policies and procedures for operating functions of laboratory
Manage laboratory purchase of inventory, storage, supplies usage and microbiological media manufacturing
Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained/prepared in accordance with approved procedures
Key skills and experience
Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Biology, Microbiology or a related discipline
Experienced operating within a Microbiology laboratory environment
Proven abilities to motivate and guide laboratory personnel
Proven experience and knowledge GMP and GLP and required compliance
Understanding of relevant reporting and recording systems; Competency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
