About the opportunity

Are you looking for a tree change? This is a rare opportunity for a Mining Asset Specialist to join our team based at Alcoa’s Huntly Bauxite Mine. You will be supporting all Alcoa Western Australia mining operations to identify and acquire fit for purpose and cost-effective mining assets. Your focus will be directed towards asset services and site technical support, clearly defining and documenting each individual mining asset strategy in order to achieve safe, efficient and cost-effective Mine Operations overall. Strategies are aligned to meet the mine plan requirements in consultation and collaboration with Maintenance and Operations Leaderships teams.

Working with a wide range of stakeholders, your focus will span across asset acquisition activities including definition of strategy, conducting analysis, acquiring capital funding, maintaining our asset register, continuous improvement activities and identifying preferred suppliers.

This is a busy but rewarding role working Monday to Friday each week (with a Monthly Leisure Day) that will allow you to balance work and family life within driving distance of Perth.

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an engineering or finance field or equivalent experience.

  • Previous experience with mining fleet management, equipment reliability preferred. Ability to communicate at all levels

  • Initiative and a desire to continuously improve business performance is critical.

  • Sound financial and analytical skills

  • A genuine dedication to Environment, Health and Safety

  • A pro-active problem-solving approach
