About the Role The NZ business controller is a newly created role within the regional business controller function to provide dedicated service in line with NZ growing business and SLA model. The main purpose of the function is to be the valued and respected financial business partner for NZ key internal stakeholders, to drive financial performance to achieve the financial strategic objectives for NZ; to assist the NZ CFO in key finance initiatives & processes and in applying strong risk and control disciplines. Successful performance of this role requires strong collaboration with all stakeholders, communication, teamwork and technical skills (financial acumen) and excellent understanding of business performance drivers. Key responsibilities include timely, relevant and value add financial management and analysis, commentary and information to be provided to NZ stakeholders, NZ CFO and the leadership team in order to positively influence and steer the business in the right direction. A few key responsibilities and accountabilities include: NZ is a growing business of over 460 FTEs, with asset of NZ$17bn, annual revenue of ~NZ$330m and NPAT of ~$NZ125m. This role is a key part of the regional CFO Office Business Control function, with a key focus on NZ business. This role is the first line contact for NZ stakeholders in regard to all management reporting matters and plays an important role in assisting implement group and regional initiatives and processes. This role is required to liaise and work collaboratively with key NZ stakeholders including, Leadership team (members), department heads and cost centre owners; Head Office Control team and other business control colleagues in W&R network. This role is required to understand and take part in formulating financial aspects regarding strategic/business plans and budgeting, and performance measurement. This is also required to understand key regulatory requirements in NZ in regard to financial aspects to provide sufficient coverage. Who are we looking for To be successful in this role you will have Good communication, problem solving / analytical and decision making skills. Good interpersonal and relationship management skills as well as Commercial acumen. You will have a degree qualification in business, accounting, finance and/or management and be CA/CPA qualified and a minimum +7 years in banking/ finance or consulting experience, especially in FP&A, internal management reporting and decision support.
